Children's spines undergo tremendous stress from birth onward — the delivery process itself, learning to walk, playground falls, heavy backpacks, and hours spent over screens all contribute to spinal misalignment. Pediatric chiropractic care addresses these issues early, before they develop into chronic problems in adulthood.
Dr. Johansson has advanced training in pediatric chiropractic techniques that use significantly less force than adult adjustments. For infants, the pressure used is comparable to what you'd comfortably apply to your own eyelid. For older children and teens, we use age-appropriate techniques that are safe, gentle, and often fun — many of our young patients actually look forward to their appointments.
Common conditions we see in pediatric patients include colic, ear infections, torticollis, growing pains, sports injuries, postural issues from device use, and headaches. While chiropractic care doesn't treat these conditions directly, correcting spinal alignment and improving nervous system function supports the body's natural ability to heal and regulate itself.
We also work with parents on developmental milestones, backpack ergonomics, and age-appropriate exercises. Our clinic is family-friendly, and we encourage parents to bring children of all ages for spinal screenings — catching and correcting alignment issues early makes a meaningful difference in long-term health.
